Education
Turnaround School, based at Sunnydale Farm, caters for young people who have been excluded from alternative provision due to social, emotional or behavioural difficulties; EBD category of SEN. They may also have additional Special needs but do not always have a statement of Special needs.
The Educational provision at Turnaround is based upon the individual’s entitlement to an inclusive and relevant education.
The methods implemented to help students with severe and complex needs learn are varied rather than relying on a single-focused solution. We believe that various approaches are required in order to re-engage the children and young people.
Learning is directed by all staff and the choice of approach, ultimately, lies with the informed professionalism of the teacher and teaching assistants, other professionals, parents/carers and the child and young person themselves.
Opportunities also exist to place young people in local mainstream schools and colleges.
